Receiving payments

Professional

Profreeio pays professionals based on their requested hourly rate, plus applicable taxes and expenses (e.g. travels, meals, accommodation, etc). Employers are expected to pay Profreeio after the service is completed (based on the hours completed) and Profreeio accredits the freelancer within 7 days after the payment is received from the employer. If the service is cancelled for any reason, Profreeio will return the fund to the employer as long as the professional has not delivered any services.  Professionals are responsible to pay their taxes or income tax which will apply to them based on their place of residence as per the jurisdiction they work under. 

Professionals will be able to receive payment from Profreeio using payment providers from Profreeio as per their registration. Withdrawal fees may apply as per the method of registration.

The following withdrawal methods are available:

  • Bank transfer – US$3- US$10 per transfer depending on local or international transfer.
  • More fees may apply based on your currency and location.

Taxes

Freelancers are in charge of paying any direct or indirect taxes including GST, VAT or income tax which will be applicable to them depending on their residency, business status under their jurisdiction. Freelancers should add service taxes on their invoices (if applicable) to Profreeio . Profreeio will include taxes on the final invoices (if applicable) to the employer as taxes are in addition to the service price. Goods and Services Taxes apply based on the location of the service conducted.  

Employer

Profreeio applies 10% commission and admin fee to the employer for the service delivered by the professional. Employers using professionals for support services may be required to pay taxes such as GST, VAT or sales tax and applicable travel expenses (hotels, rentals, flights, meals, etc).  If these are applicable, they will be included in the final invoice.

The employer has the option to pay Profreeio through bank transfer.
