Bob Nzambe is a professional geologist with 11 years of experience in exploration and mining industry, with skills ranging from exploration to mining, strategic consulting, reconciliation, management of project, training and mentoring, mining and environmental geological studies.
For the 5 consecutive years Bob has been part of high management in Barrick Corporation in Congo (Kibali Gold Mine) regarding all the critical decisions to produce 800,000 Koz every year, ensure integrated LOM and Finance implication in the entire chain of mining operation with high safety value guided by the latest 45001 guidance.
In the early years his of career, Bob Nzambe has worked as an exploration geologist with Managem (Tanganika Mining) and Kilogold company, focusing on gold, copper, so on… exploration from greenfield to brownfield, taking on various projects within the DRC and the Republic of Congo.
Bob Nzambe has also worked with Barrick Gold Corporation, the world’s second largest gold company, where he occupied strategic functions such as senior geologist & Acting Mineral Resource Manager and Open Pit Geology manager at Kibali Gold mine project. In his role, Bob took on immense responsibilities in looking after all operation between Mineral Resources Management (MRM), Mining Activities (MA) and Process Plant (PP), to make sure that all the materials mined including the fed through are of superior quality in terms of grade recovery.

•Responsible for adherence to all geology control standards and the issuing of plans for instruction. •Accountable for all Open Pit and underground geology work. •Take a pro-active and positive approach in the training and education of various geologists and field technicians. •Responsible for all month end results and quarterly reports. (Drill performance vs plan, Grade performance vs mining practices). •Filling or archiving of all relevant notes and information and administration of all data. •Metal Accounting, Reconciliation numbers, SOX numbers reported are verified and correct. •Maintain data management systems, checking of data as required. •Control costs in the mine geology Department, analyzing and tracking costs versus budget. •Ensure the management training matrix develop for the underground geology is implemented, followed and completed in a timely manner. •Design, Select and prioritizing drill targets from a variety of geologic settings within the Mine environment and coordinating subsequent mine efforts for LOM. •Delivering, follow up and update of the LOM drilling schedule. •Ensure LOM drilling schedule is integrated into LOM plan. •Produce drilling scenario as and when required to ensure geology outputs are according to the expectation of Kibali complex. •Working together with long term planar to ensure all geological requirements are captured into a plan.
•Mine to Mill reconciliation ≥95% on grade and throughput; ensure a proper following on a daily basis of all material which will come from the Pit, proper feed by checking face, Truck factor, Density and Grade. •Provide mentorship/leadership of geology department, and coordinate and report on all of its activities •Prepare and manage operating, contractual (e.g. drilling, assaying), and capital budgets. •Provide comprehensive geological input (e.g. orebody geometry and grade and tonnage potential) into strategic and short-term mine planning and forecasting. •Updating Grade control block model integrating all new data (Geology, Weathering, Redox, ore wireframe…) and using GCX system to generate minable ore polygons. •Identify the drilling gaps within mining areas and highlight to the brownfield geologist and resource. •Validates ore and waste mining areas planned to be mined in short and medium term. •Ensures best practice in ore spotting, material identification and characterization. Enforces correct mining practice. •Understands long term mine planning and mining production requirements. •Manages production section in the database, ensures required data quality and validity for machineries factors on ore/waste volume and tones mined. •Weekly and monthly ore mining report and analysis.
