My experience is concentrated in Operational Management, Risk Management, with exposure to all aspects of mining-, construction- and manufacturing arenas. I have 25 years of underground experience, with 35 years of management experience, including an executive position for 10 years. This gave me exposure to the operations of coal-, gold- and platinum mining – surface (opencast) mining as well as underground.
I have developed new mining methods on the coal mines that saved Anglo millions.
My latter years were spent on Shaft Sinking- and Mining Projects on Coal-, Gold- and Platinum mines. My responsibilities included, but on limited to, the development, training, implementation, and auditing of safety systems for all projects. I did OHS audits in the USA and Canada for the Holcim Cement Company (now Holcim Lafarge) and attended several conferences in Switzerland.
