The Master of Science in Mining Engineering program at Shahrood University of Technology in Iran is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of mining engineering. This program focuses on the study of various aspects of mining, including exploration, extraction, processing, and management of mineral resources. Throughout our program, students will gain a deep understanding of the technical and scientific principles behind mining operations. we learned about the latest technologies and techniques used in the industry, as well as the environmental and safety considerations associated with mining activities. Our curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including mine planning and design, rock mechanics, mineral processing, mine ventilation, mine safety, and sustainable mining practices.
Work & Experience
Achievements: • Implementing sustainable mining practices in the underground mine, such as effective water management resulting in a 30% decrease in potential soil contamination in the farmland. This means that the likelihood of harmful substances, including saltwater, seeping into the nearby farmland and causing damage has significantly decreased. • We have seen a 7% increase in productivity through the redesign of our room and pillar approach and the adoption of mining techniques. This improvement has led to advancements in output and overall operational efficiency. • Ensuring safety is a priority in our salt rock mines. We have implemented safety protocols and practical measures such, as roof support systems, enhanced ventilation systems, and strict monitoring and control measures. These initiatives aim to protect our worker's safety while minimizing the risk of accidents. Responsibilities: • Utilized Surpac and Data mine software to create 3D models of the deposit, design mine layouts, and optimize production processes. • Preparing monthly reports for the Iranian mining engineering organization. • Assisted in the planning and execution of mining projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines. • Using AutoCAD to develop mine plans, including mine infrastructure placement and haul road layouts. • Monitored mining operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and implemented corrective measures as necessary.
Achievements: • Using schemes to make open pit mining operations more productive, reduce downtime, and improve overall efficiency. • The implementation of cost-saving measures in the Kotena copper open pit mining operations, such as optimizing equipment utilization, and streamlining processes, could result in significant financial savings for the company. Responsibilities: • I employed Datamine software to generate precise 3D models of the deposit and develop efficient mining plans which leads to increased productivity in mining operations. • Supervising contractors and staff members working on-site and in the pit area. • I diligently prepared monthly reports for the Iranian mining engineering organization, ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation of project progress and key metrics. • Provided valuable support to geologists during the exploration process and collaborated with them to prepare detailed estimates of copper reserves.
In my Master's thesis, I cooperated with the National Iranian Drilling Company and the National Iranian South Oil Company. The results of the study were published in the Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering and Journal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology
