Work & Experience
Developing and leading the technical services department and acting as a senior mine planner • Accountable for mine planning, ventilation, Survey, Drill & Blast and Geotechnical engineering • Develop and review the LOM budget, monthly cost forecasting and accruals • Work closely with finance department to review budget including assumptions • Detailed technical review & optimization of LOM Plan and validation of the study to the developed concept • Developing scope of work and working with various consultant for various studies • Generating various reports and presenting to executives during the quarterly review meeting • Reviewing cost assumptions and input parameters to ensure that the budget is accurate • Reviewing cut-off grade, mine reserves and acting as one of the qualified person (QP) for NI 43-101 • Implementing improvement projects in mine planning, Geotechnical, Drill and Blast and Survey.
Leading the mining and technical services department in a safe and most productive manner.
Leading the mining division (Mine operations and technical services for North America), covering 1 mine in Canada and 5 mines in the USA.
Working as an independent consultant supporting mines and managing Profreeio platform.
Thanks to JP’s expertise in mine planning, particularly within the Drill and Blast department at Musselwhite Mine, the implementation of new processes and standards has led to significant improvements. His work has optimized blast designs, enhanced safety protocols, and greatly improved operational efficiency, resulting in smoother operations and better resource utilization.
